I am so pleased to be able to offer these wonderful hand carved, completely hand made birch bark thimbles from Russia. I was able to add a few of these
thimbles to my own collection through a private sale and was so pleased with the craftsmanship I arranged to have a small lot shipped to me to offer on my website.
I ordered designs I had never seen before and when they arrived I was totally amazed. I am especially impressed with the square and round house thimbles
that sit on their own little base. They are absolutely breathtaking, very fragile, with unbelievable detail and light as a feather as well.
These wonderful thimbles are made in a small village in the Ural region of Russia and are lovingly created by husband and wife artists Alex and Alfiya Guriny.
These artists also work with children, teaching them how to make different things from wood, especially from birch bark. I am sure this will be one of the prized
thimbles in you collection. The square houses are about 1 3/4" tall (not counting the flowers or the base). The base is 1 1/2" square. The round houses are about
1 3/8" tall (not counting the base). The base is 1 1/2" across. The 'animal' thimbles (cat, rabbit and mouse) range from 1 1/8" to 1 3/8" and the wedge of cheese
comes with the mouse thimble.
